On
July 4, 1776 America won its independence and began to move forward
to forge a new country. Since that day many of our citizens have,
with each passing generation, lost sight of the
basic principles upon which America was founded and have transformed
it into the most advanced and powerful country on earth such as,
"We
hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created
equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable
Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of
Happiness." The Declaration of Independence,

the People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect
union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide
for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure
the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do
ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States

"All
persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject
to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States
and of the state wherein they reside. No state shall make or
enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities
of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive
any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process
of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal

America
today is on very troubled waters. Greed, political corruption, and
an ever-growing dependence on foreign financial support is eating
away at our great country's core like an ever-accelerating cancer.
In our apathy we have allowed politicians at all levels to erode America's
foundation.
Spanning the full spectrum of local, state, and federal governments,
America is plagued by weak leadership whose majority, both Democrats
and Republicans, have, at
our expense, consciously focused their energies on promoting their
own gains and perpetuating their terms in office.
But
there is a CURE to America's "cancer": Every American who
still believes in those great principles upon which America was founded
must get more involved with its government to be a guard, or "SENTINEL,"
to help ensure that our rights and freedoms are being looked after
by those we elect to office. The following are some things that every
American can and must do:

Find out who your government leaders are. For a list of

Keep
up to date on what your government leaders are doing and
their positions and voting records on important issues.

Let
your government leaders know how you feel on important issues
by phone, email, or U.S. mail.

Register
to vote and vote in all elections.
-
Encourage
your children and grandchildren to get and stay involved
- they are the only ones who can control their own destiny.
